In a few days, the biggest sports event EYOF 2022 will start in our city. The city of Banská Bystrica will welcome young athletes from 48 European countries who will compete in 10 sports – specifically: Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Cycling, Judo, Handball, Swimming, Gymnastics, Tennis, and Volleyball.
From 24 to 30 of July 2022 visitors will be able to watch the performances of young athletes in person or, due to limited capacity, in the Fan Zone at the EYOF Sports Park in Štiavničky.
The sports fields where competitions in individual sports will take place are located not only in Banská Bystrica but also in Detva, Zvolen, and Slovenská Ľupča.

FAN ZONE
The EYOF Banská Bystrica 2022 fan zone will be located in the Park under the SNP Museum and will be open also to the public.On the premises of the Fan Zone, there will be on July 24, or July 30, 2022, the opening and closing ceremony, for which tickets can be purchased here or at our Information Centre at Námestí SNP 1 in the town hall building. Part of the Fan Zone space will be a zone with refreshments, and a large stage for cultural programs and other activities. The operating hours of the Fan Zone are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
LIMITATIONS
In addition to traffic restrictions, the event will also be accompanied by restrictions on the use of individual sports grounds for the public.
- The indoor swimming pool in Štiavničky will be closed to the public from July 18 (from 2 p.m.) until August 1, 2022.
- The Aqualand beach swimming pool will also be unavailable for visitors from July 18 to August 2, 2022.
