The cycle route starts on the square in the spa village of Brusno. We can get to Brusno either by road no. I / 66 or we can comfortably take a train from Banská Bystrica city. The train station is located in the centre of the village. To get on the train with bike we use the first or the last door in the set that are used for transporting bicycles.
From the square we ride 1 km along the green cycle path, towards the spa, to the end of the village. There, at the cyclo-signpost, we turn right. We continue along the green cycle route no. 5558 about 8 km by long gentle climbing to the crossing of forest roads near the newly reconstructed Brzačka cottage. We turn right there, come around the barrier and continue further, towards Starý Majer locality.
Along the green cycle path, we reach the Strelníky sports complex, where we can have a snack in the “Koliba nad Strelníkmi” chalet. Then we arrive to the village of Strelníky, where at the belfry we turn left towards Povrazník village.
From Povrazník village we continue along the green cycle path no. 5558 approx. 12 km to Ponická Huta settlement. From there, we descent 11 km along the 2nd class road through Poniky village and we get to Šalková, the part of the town of Banská Bystrica, where our cycle route ends.
