Our route starts under the Šupín Hill – 1,5 km from Slovenská Ľupča and its beginning is located directly on the cycle route Banská Bystrica – Šalková – Slovenská Ľupča. The starting point of the cycle path in the Driekyňa locality can be reached either from Banská Bystrica along the cycle path through the Šalková, part of the city of Banská Bystrica, towards Slovenská Ľupča village or from Slovenská Ľupča village, where at the stone aggregate shop we turn right from the main road, cross the iron bridge and continue right approx. 1 km along a forest road. At this point, there is a signpost – Driekyňa.
According to the signpost we continue 1.5 km along the asphalt road, then at the intersection we turn left. On the way leading to the right, we will later return from our circuit. After 600 meters we turn right towards the cottage colony and continue through the Bystrická vrchovina highland along a forest road lined with a mountain stream in the beginning. Now we slightly ascend in the length of about 8 km.
On the horizon, by turning left, we join the forest road. After 300 m at the road junction we turn right onto the asphalt road, then after 50 m turn left and after 300 m turn right. From this point we’ll have almost 6 km only descending, until the end of our ride. We descend along the green tourist trail through the woods and meadows to the isolated family house, which is located as if in the middle of nowhere – its name is Ratajová Pôlč. Immediately behind it we turn right, along a forest road with about 200 meters long ascent, then we’ll only descend. At the end, we join the asphalt forest road where we started our circuit and it will lead us to the end point.
Note: Although this cycle route is officially registered in the maps as cycle route no. 5560, in the landscape is not marked at all. Therefore, it is recommended to take the map or at least these instructions with.
